I don't know if you're an Alton Brown fan and/or fruitcake, but he has a good fruitcake recipe HERE (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/free-range-fruitcake-recipe/index.html). I don't fancy the store bought ones with their colorful candied fruit and too much sugar, but I liked his, though I've omitted some fruits and substituted others depending on what I could find or had on hand.
