Well worth watching, this anime, set in Pre-Revolution France, featuring a young Chevalier (based on the real Chevalier D'Eon who spent half his life as a man, half a woman) who becomes possessed by the spirit of his twin sister who seeks vengeance for her death, supernatural horror, excellent realistic animation, great sword fights, while the anime drags in the middle, the ending is explosive.

1 lb package thick sliced bacon (at least 1/8 inch thick)
12 oz package semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons vegetable shortening.

Place bacon strips on baking sheet with sides (do not overlap) and place in oven at 425 degrees until golden brown and crispy (but still flexible) remove bacon to paper toweling to dry. When cool, cut bacon strips in half.

Place semi sweet chocolate chips into glass bowl, add shortening and place in microwave for 1 min at med power, stir chips, and return to microwave for another minute, watching and stirring.

Dip bacon into melted chocolate and place on wire rack above baking sheet with sides to dry completely (this may take some hours) You can also coat bacon using a pastry brush, allowing to dry and then flipping over to do the other side.

Very chewy, salty and sweet!

*makes about 24 pieces* keep covered in airtight container should be eaten within a few days.

***
(Maple Version)
place bacon strips in shallow pan with enough maple syrup to coat in fridge and leave overnight before baking)

(Chocolate Coffee Version)
Add 3 Tablespoons strong coffee liqueur (to taste) to melted chocolate - do not add coffee, as the water will cause the chocolate to seize)
