Bit of a bummer - It's not a big plot point in SHERLOCK:A Scandal in Belgravia, it's a little thing - but I would like to have been surprised, it's difficult when you run a news blog.

But anywhoo, the BFI Q and A after the screening of Scandal is up at [livejournal.com profile] benandmartin, along with an invite to a screening of the second episode, The Hounds of Baskerville which also has a Q and A with show writers and producers (probably not actors, Ben's gonna be in NZ after he finishes up Parade's End (if it's not nearly done already) methinks he'll be happy to go back to his own ginger locks.

And today, back to writing, it's grey and dismal for the third day in a row. Well, it's suitable for writing about London, this fic is going to be longish and should post next week, maybe with illus. I think I'm going to put off errands until tomorrow, but I am out of half and half for my coffee. ;(

Ohh

reading reviews of 'Game of Shadows' which I will wait to see on cable - and in the first paragraphs most reviewers are comparing it as lacking to tv series Sherlock (mentioning Benedict Cumberbatch by name)

Comparisons are bound to happen, because they are both versions of the same iconic character, but I don't think the director and actors of GoS are being asked about Sherlock, whereas Mark Gatiss says, 'we're not the ones afraid to talk about it.' Mark btw, says he likes the Ritchie films.

But for the blogger who stated that first season Sherlock takes cues from the first SH film, it doesn't Sherlock was in production before the Ritchie film.

What else?

TTSS getting shut out in awards programmes, like the SAGs, which is a crying shame, it was a mistake to hold back the US release date a month, audience numbers for the 4 theaters it is showing in broke records, audience numbers and buzz would have helped in noms. Particularly in acting ensemble catagories.
I'm so happy Martin Freeman is Bilbo.

And Benedict Cumberbatch is Smaug.

It's like all my fandom dreams come true.

Well, except the action figures of the two won't be in the same scale. :D
