I AM SO HAPPY! I expected this to go the way of many decisions in the last few years (to the right) Now, i'm in a state where the only health care companies allowed a license have to be non-profit, but my long-term goal is for the US to join every other industrialized nation in the world and have a national single payer health care system. No one should ever go bankrupt because of health care bills or be denied coverage for pre-existing conditions. I used to have what is considered the best health insurance (that went away when I was laid off, one of my children is disabled) but even with it, I couldn't afford the copays and haven't gone to a doctor for at least seven years, in case my kids needed visits instead.
And think about this, as long as US companies have to pay for the costs of insuring their employees and take care of their pensions, they cannot compete globally. The only nation in the industrialized world without a national health care system is the US.
