So Benedict Cumberbatch made a disparaging remark about a tv show. I really don't think anyone in the scheme of things cares very much (even the people who made or are in that show) but I think the thing I dislike (more than tabloids taking their bits out of context) are fans stating that Benedict should be sweet and nice and never have an opinion - so that his fans can love him unconditionally. But I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Yeah, I've had the same advice as a blogger for a decade. Just be niiiiccee and more people will like you. But I'd rather be myself than a persona, and it gets tiring to censor oneself and try to please all the people all the time. I'd rather see a flesh and blood person there, warts and all, well, those are the type of people I follow (like Misha and Gackt) and I find myself caring about. And I give them the benefit of the doubt, same as I'd want someone to give me, I track down the original interview or article and read in context before I decide what to think about it.
Kids went to get haircuts today. Stylist somewhat bemused (but not surprised) when handed pic of Sam and Dean. Last year kids were Sherlock and John for Halloween, now they’ve decided to be the Supernatural Kids. Proposed white-suited with red rose Sam, and Untouchables or Frontierland Dean. But we’ll see what the budget can manage!
daughter and I were discussing, okay, if you're introducing someone to the greatness that is Gackt, which video to start with, and we've rambeled through a few, but I think to showcase his voice, this one's a winner.
