A why can't there be more 'filler eps' like this?
Now, I wasn't a big Charlie fan, but neither did I not like her, in a show thats almost devoid of female characters (that are not demons) it was great to see this geeky, tech-savvy and smart redhead show up, with no agenda, and not as a token love interest of one of the boys.
I liked in Charlie's second episode that they gave her a sisterly bond with Dean, the way the two geeked out in the LARPING, and gave Sam and Dean their only chance this season to have some fun. But now because we get Charlie's backstory, and it's one of a childhood tragedy like those of a Winchester, without the supernatural element, I have fallen in love with her character, and anything that brings out Dean's nuturing hug-fests is a good thing.
We had some great nods to past episodes, CONTINUITY - remember this word writers - and events in this ep kept up the mytharc story, mentions of Kevin, Cas and Chuck, nonetheless.
Next week, BEN EDLUND and CASTIEL RETURN!!!!!
