what’s great - the Headless Horseman is scary particularly with a glowing double ax that cauterizes as it chops heads

Ichabod Crane is sort of Sherlocky smart, not to mention very good looking

Abby is a great heroine, and that fact she has a sister who is also featured is a great thing

Orlando Jones as Captain Frank

what fails - letting out too early that the Headless Horseman is one of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, This makes the coolest character on the show one-dimensional, where it would have been great to develop a backstory on him when he was human, perhaps setting him up as an antithesis/antihero to Icabod, etc.
