It was better than I thought, (in and oh my god this could be a trainwreck cringing way) but in the end, one of less successful meta episodes, it didn't show where the boys are now, didn't move the story forward and was so self-reverential that it leaves a cloying taste in the mouth. (like artificial raspberry flavor, not good) Not to mention, it stopped the show narrative at season five, and even the playauthor/fandom standin stated that everything after that was crap. And Dean being proud of being 'a knight of hell' what? Unless they get Edlund back to write another ep, please please stay far away from meta at this point. This is the sort of thing that wrecked season 3 of Sherlock, pandering too much to the 'perceived' audience of 'fangirls' forgetting the point of the show which used to be to frighten us, not to mention all feeling about the characters and their fates has lost urgency this season. Nothing seems to matter anymore as crisis are underwritten. (Dean's being a demon case in point)
