never buy green dot (walmart) prepaid visa cards

so a friend gave me two of these prepaid visa cards, (thinking they were gift cards) but to use them you have to register an account - using your social security number - and the site isn’t even secure. I’m not going to open up a credit card account and risk my credit rating for what is supposed to be a gift card. I’m gonna have to send these back to her and hope she can get the money off of them. *these cards come with fees that accrue if you can't close the account and are notorious for people loading money onto them and not ever being able to use it/get it back. You can't contact customer service, it's often in another country.

Target visa cards and gift cards, that’s the way to go, you can use them in store or online, for food or other stuff, no fees, no expiration.
