I'm just so absurdly happy that Blackstar, David Bowie's last album, newly released was at no 1 in the US and the UK on his birthday, it was his last gift to us. I hope he knew how well he is loved.

the importance of an artist

my thoughts on the passing of David Bowie, and why so many people I know are shedding tears this morning. An artist has the ability to articulate the things all of us feel, in Mr. Bowie’s case, alienation, loneliness, but also hope, and awe. When we can’t find the words, we can play the songs, or look at the pictures and feel somewhere, someone understands us, and we aren’t alone, or that strange that we can’t fit in somewhere. So yes, we weep for what we’ve lost, our voice, but he’s going to be there whenever we need him, just pushing ‘play’ thanks, Mr.Bowie for today, and always.
