National TV Awards (UK)

spoilers

well, Sherlock did not win Best Drama, but neither did Dr. Who, the fans split the vote
(this is a popularity contest, not critical contest, I voted online!)

AND

neither Benedict (Sherlock) or Matt (Dr. Who) won Best Actor, as fans split the vote.

but having said that, most critics chose SHERLOCK, and it's definably the most memorable show with Benedict the most memorable actor, season 2 this fall!

I hope Martin gets a nod, or do they have best supporting actor?

I was flicking onto the NTA in the ad breaks and was startled that Waterloo Road won. It used to be a good series a couple of years ago, but last year was utter drivel. And David Jason again? Considering the quality of British TV last year it's a shame the same old, same old won it.

Well if Ant and Dec (presenters of public talent Idol show thing) have won best entertainer for the 10th year running......then I wouldn't take it as too much of a snub if SHERLOCK got little recognition. Because the series was so short and badly promoted/advertised....so few people managed to actually watch it here, even with repeats and a DVD release!

I really hate how split voting works against really wonderful and much better TV shows. I know it's a popularity contest by voting but it still sucks when something not as strong winds up winning.

I guess this is why I tend to avoid watching award shows and just check out who won the next day.
