Benedict Cumberbatch cast as villain in Star Trek 2 means millions of people are already rooting for the bad guy to win.

I love that my local morning newcast has a dance-off every friday. This is possibly why they won an emmy on 2011.

Slightly annoyed that I am sitting here filling out paperwork to prove that my child still has a disability, my friend who is a parapelgic has to do the same every year. (If only it would go away!) Our social services as a country are gutted every year under the protests of politicians that people ‘scam’ the system, yes, we get SO MANY BENEFITS that it would be worth it to try to fool people. (sarcasm) My rels in the UK can’t believe that if you lose your job in the States, your unemployment is not only 50% of what you made but your are cut off arbitrarily after one year. What if you haven’t found a job? They say. Shit Out Of Luck I say.

What so many politicians fail to realize, if you don’t support people who are unemployed, or poor, or disabled, or mentally ill, the cost doesn’t go away, it merely shifts … to prisons.

I know what you mean. I've been on my disability since 1993 and I have to fill out paperwork every year. It's not going to go away and it's not going to get better, you'd think after so many years they'd just accept that. Yes, I can work, but with a lot of restrictions that make full time or even high end part time just about impossible. Luckily I have a great boss who understands, but there are a lot who aren't as lucky.

Our system is a joke on many levels. Rhi told me the other day she wants to get her international degree and go to college in London. I hope she does, I hope she moves there or somewhere else overseas because what's here is a joke.

Yes--I think of the sociological impications of John Nash's work: that the group benefits when it works for the good of the individual.

(Everyone is already rooting for Loki, so it's not that big a stretch.)
