Just came back from PACIFIC RIM (no spoilers)

GREAT! Lots of fun, interesting characters, wonderful special effects, great partnership film,you never knew what was going to happen with some nice little light moments, nice to see some real diversity in the majority of cast, I can imagine a sequel or prequel being even better (now the premise is outlined) and it’s great to see something new, not a milked out franchise!

Agreed! I enjoyed it very much. I would have preferred more female characters, especially as background extras (that was my only complaint), but overall it was fun and creative. And now I really want to see all the AUs people can come up with where characters have to drift together. :)

Yes, it did need more female characters, and I would have liked if the female character were a bit more empowered, in the sense she and the male co-pilot defeated the enemy together until the last moment, not that he jettisoned her first. I did like how they did not make a 'romance' between the two, however.
