Peter O'Toole 1932-2013

The great light and inspiration of my life, who I was twice lucky enough to meet.
Good night, sweet prince, flights of angels sing thee to thy rest,
though I’m certain you’ll be kickin it with Richard Burton upstairs. *raises a glass*

I'd love to hear that story also!

I've seen several of his other films, notably Becket and Lion in Winter, but Lawrence was the first film I saw him in and I was awestruck. I lost count long ago of the number of times I watched it. Not such great history but a great film and a tremendous performance.

Yep, it's nothing like the real TEL, but you have to see it as a work on it's own merits, it's true they don't make films like that anymore, too many things made by committee this day, maybe only Jackson comes close when you think personal vision by director.

I loved the Lion in Winter and Becket (with Richard my other face actor) but I adore him in Ratatouille, he voiced Anton Ego exquisitely.
