What is your favourite gemstone and why? Doesn't have to be anything complicated, you could just like the color or feel, thank you!

Garnets. They're relatively common an yet very luminous, and their color goes with my coloring very well.

I don't really have a single favourite - I have several rings and earrings with amethyst, because I love purple, but I also really like garnets for that rich red. Garnets are interesting as their colour changes according to what's backing the stone - witness the way the Anglo Saxons got them to really glow with a textured gold underneath the flat cut stone. I do have a preference for cabochon stones.

So, I'm only a couple weeks late (story of my life, really). I really like iolite. It's also called water sapphire and Vikings' compass. I like the idea of your cards. Always enjoy seeing your work. :-)
