Winter Soldier was very good - I liked Cap's depiction in that one - as you say, fighting for "classic" American ideals that should still be personified, including standing up to certain elements of the government when necessary, etc.
Mind you, I'm not really a fan per si of the Marvel comic world, but I appreciate Cap's character as he was originally intended to be (ie prior to this newest "twist" in the comics). Also, I hate to see all his admirers and fans disappointed and upset - I empathize strongly with them.
