Just saw this great story about a 13 year old boy who makes and sells 'Man Candles' with such scents as Bacon, Fresh Cut Grass, Baseball Mitt, he uses soup cans for the candles and donates the soup to food pantries.

That cosmetics (bath and hair care products) do not need to meet FDA safety guidelines to be sold in the US? Major loopholes in federal law allow the $50 billion cosmetics industry to put unlimited amounts of chemicals into personal care products with no required testing, no required monitoring of health effects, and inadequate labeling requirements.

Neither cosmetic products nor cosmetic ingredients are reviewed or approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) before they are sold to the public. FDA cannot require companies to do safety testing of their cosmetic products before marketing.
