Having sorted through the 'spoils of war' last night, ratio of chocolate to non-chocolate candy rates a little over half in favour of non-chocolate.

Some surprises this year, a Halloween style Kit-Kat covered in orange coloured white chocolate and a Russell Stover caramel heart. (wonders if person handing out ran out of Halloween candy, or did just as most do, buy candy that you like in case of leftovers)

Daughter was adamant that Halloween is fun for 'free' candy. I said, well, it's not really free as you have to work for it, ie: walk up and down the street going up to doors and knocking on them, and she says, I don't have to pay for it so it's free. Well, that's logic.

Son enjoyed counting steps as he walked up them, and would make annoucements such as 'Oh, more Whoppers. Swedish Fish, yay!' I am hoping that people didn't think he was questioning the quality of offerings. One incident at a decorated house scared him so much he cried a bit, but he went back to going up to houses, I know the gentleman at that house was sorry, but I said, no it's okay, it's part of Halloween after all.

I really have to hand it to people who decorate their houses and give out candy, there are fewer and fewer each year.

Daughter asked for me not to take down Halloween decs yet, that's for the weekend, then seeing how we are for Xmas lights, it's probably get them out this weekend or not at all, we are expecting snow. NOT READY YET!

Meanwhile, I am gonna be doing non-fic reading, and maybe a new John is a Cat. Depending. I have a sudden craving for hot apple cider.
St. Paul, Minn. — When Tom Keith stepped up to the sound effects microphone, radio magic invariably followed. "He could do anything. You would ask him to make a sound, and he could make that sound," said Dale Connelly, who was Keith's co-host on The Morning Show for Minnesota Public Radio from 1983 until Keith retired in 2008. "He brought things to life. It was amazing to watch."

Keith, most famous for his sound effects wizardry on A Prairie Home Companion, died Sunday after collapsing suddenly at his home. He was 64.

RIP - I loved listening to The Morning Show for years. I still miss it.

With fluffy hair, giving one of his long eloquent and self effacing interviews that leave cameramen to let the tape run and run but WE ARE NOT COMPLAINING!~ He looks happy. And that makes me happy. (It don't take much)

*he is desperately fond of Gary Oldman, and ADORES Martin Freeman (in a completely platonic way) oh Benny Benny Ben.

I forgot to mention this … we are in the US - and one parent asked me how are they Sherlock Holmes and John Watson? (they had name tags on with pics of Ben and Martin in character) and I said, oh, this is the new show produced by the BBC, and they said, oh, I’ve never seen kids dressed up in costumes from a Masterpiece Mystery show, I’ll have to watch it!

our work here is done.
