Having sorted through the 'spoils of war' last night, ratio of chocolate to non-chocolate candy rates a little over half in favour of non-chocolate.
Some surprises this year, a Halloween style Kit-Kat covered in orange coloured white chocolate and a Russell Stover caramel heart. (wonders if person handing out ran out of Halloween candy, or did just as most do, buy candy that you like in case of leftovers)
Daughter was adamant that Halloween is fun for 'free' candy. I said, well, it's not really free as you have to work for it, ie: walk up and down the street going up to doors and knocking on them, and she says, I don't have to pay for it so it's free. Well, that's logic.
Son enjoyed counting steps as he walked up them, and would make annoucements such as 'Oh, more Whoppers. Swedish Fish, yay!' I am hoping that people didn't think he was questioning the quality of offerings. One incident at a decorated house scared him so much he cried a bit, but he went back to going up to houses, I know the gentleman at that house was sorry, but I said, no it's okay, it's part of Halloween after all.
I really have to hand it to people who decorate their houses and give out candy, there are fewer and fewer each year.
Daughter asked for me not to take down Halloween decs yet, that's for the weekend, then seeing how we are for Xmas lights, it's probably get them out this weekend or not at all, we are expecting snow. NOT READY YET!
Meanwhile, I am gonna be doing non-fic reading, and maybe a new John is a Cat. Depending. I have a sudden craving for hot apple cider.
