Kids are home today for Martin Luther King Jr. Day! (have a happy one)
I have a headache, but nothing can keep me from watching SHERLOCK now, I was having issues last night accessing and dl'ing from BBC I Player, but that was sorted this morning and it's ready to go. But am I ready?
Thanks for the purchase of hoodie and sweatshirt in my shop with the new Memento Mori image. As I was saying in comments, I did my best to turn something around in 24 hours - that I would be happy with - not skimping on the linework or the colouring just as if I had days to work on it, while I did go with some textures I've had on hand, I haven't used most of them before, when I have time I have to up my paper inventory. It's the matching that gets difficult. It was a struggle on that background, but I'm actually quite pleased with how it came out, very much in the tradition of Japanese painting and woodblock prints.
My friend asked about the significance of the lining on Sherlock's coat, and that my friends, is a reference to blood without being explicit. Friend also asked why Pieta isn't in the title, since the pose is purposefully taken after the sculpture by Michelangelo, but I didn't want to hit people over the head too much, doing a piece like this is my Memento Mori to Sherlock and myself in a way, I suppose, (latin for remembrance of death or be aware of your own mortality) but Sherlock here could also be sleeping, because like Arthur, he returns when we need him.
When I come back, whenever that is, we can discuss the ep if you want. If I'm able to.
Otherwise hope you have a good day, I will also post on the bead bracelet I made from my bead exchange. :D
PS - I NEVER WATCH AWARD SHOWS but I was on the computer last night, glancing over into next room where daughter son and spouse watched Golden Globes, all of us looking for a fleeting glance of Benedict. Daughter spied him, though no one else did. Wonder some wise person snapped a pic of the two Sherlocks, Ben and Robert, I've been staying offline so not spoiled.
