Do me a favour and tweet #WeLoveMishaCollins today
Some kids online decided to get together a twitter campaign to hate on actor Misha Collins. (Possibly because they don't like his CHARACTER on his tv show.) Now, I can kind of get a campaign to save a show from cancellation, but making a hate campaign personal is Just Not On.
Particularly for a man (if you've read my recent blogging) who devotes so much time and energy to charitable causes. Jim Beaver (fellow castmate who plays Bobby Singer) suggested that people not just tweet today, but do a Random Act of Kindness if you can.
I had a moment when I first got on Supernatural when I was like, omg, people are paying attention to me and I have fans, maybe I should cultivate an image and like try to seem really cool. I had this sort of moment of being commercially self conscious, and it took me maybe a month to realize, no, this is just not fucking who I am and I don’t wanna behave that way and I’m not gonna do that. And then I started being like, here, here’s a picture of me in drag, fuck it – which is, by the way, so much more liberating and relaxing. […] Everything that comes out of your mouth sucks if you’re trying to say the right thing, so I very quickly learned that I needed to not try to say the right thing and just be myself, and I’d be happier and better adjusted.
