Supernatural Kids score!

So last year kids had fun being Sherlock and John, this year they are Sam and Dean from Supernatural. (girl let her hair go brown and grow long and we have to iron it to look like Sam) I had to put off buying things for them, but we hit the thrift store on the way to the grocery and FOUND DEAN'S LEATHER JACKET for $7! Srsly, just like Dean's old jacket, if a little bit more orangey brown. We also found a jean jacket for Sammy, they already have their jeans, boots, tees and flannel shirts.

I also found a kid's western gun which looks just like the Colt, and a pirate's dagger that looks like Ruby's dagger, once I used a can of pewter spray paint (for plastic) on both props. Daughter reminded me to make a Samulet, so I will do that probably tomorrow out of gold polyclay.

Oh, we found the perfect Castiel trenchcoat too, might go back and get that for cosplay another time. I'm just amazed cos usually I have to hit store after store and never find the right thing.

The kids are going out as Sam and Dean Winchester this year, so I made a replica of Dean’s amulet necklace (worn in seasons one to four of Supernatural)

You can purchase replicas but these are usually made of brass, and I didn’t want anything sharp or heavy for the little boy. I haven’t sculpted in polyclay before, it would be nice to get in some fine detail, but not bad for a few hours work!

PS, kids not impressed, they are used to elaborate costumes and stuff that lights up! haha. Now I have to work on painting the Colt and Ruby’s dagger props.
