Happy Fourth! Benedict's Banana Blueberry Bread

The only reason Benedict is in the title, I had a very nice dream last night featuring Benedict, and got some kisses. Haha. And his hair was curly and blonde, which is reminiscent of bananas, and he has blue eyes! Okay, I've stretched this metaphor enough. Hope this is almost as nice as Benedict's kisses, warm out of the oven slathered in butter.

heat oven to 350degrees F

1 cup fresh blueberries
2 tablespoons flour

1 3/4 cup all purpose baking flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup butter
2 eggs beaten
1 cup mashed bananas* do not peel and mash until all other ingredients are ready, or add 1/4 tsp lemon juice to keep banana from browning.
1/2 tsp vanilla.

Sift the dry ingredients, set aside. Roll the washed, dried blueberries lightly in flour, set aside.

Cream together sugar and butter, add eggs and mix until blended, add vanilla.

Add mashed bananas to sugar mixture.

Make a well in flour mixture and pour in liquid ingredients, stir lightly until just blended.

Add blueberries, folding in so they are not crushed.

Pour batter into a greased loaf pan and bake for 50 - 60 min.

Supernatural Meta - season eight, season nine

This is the most intriguing thing about season nine, how they will deal with the angels, I've seen a few fics that have delt with the fallen - the angels who fell into water and drowned, or the angels who didn't have vessels when they fell.

I hope that they remain angels, some will go rogue (angry at God, Castiel, the Winchesters), some will be helpless or be possible allies, but the exercise might be to get angels on the side of humanity by seeing how they have to live, because I do think the end game might be the Winchesters and Cas getting to Heaven to get Cas' grace and restoring the angels to their place.

I have always been attracted to Sam and Dean as heroes because they are human, they don't have superpowers (which is why I don't agree with people who want them to use more magic) there is always the idea that we could be Sam and Dean if we had to be.

One thing I think they writers got away from (my big beef with season 8) they were so busy retconning and adding to the supernatural world - where we almost had 'meet the monster you don't have to kill' this week - was that they were no longer interacting with regular people and saving them, that only seemed to be recalled in the near last episode with Crowley attacking both Jodi and Sarah.
