S'good movie.

I enjoyed the premise of control of 'lucid dreaming' since I read the 1966 novella The Dream Master (He Who Shapes) by Roger Zealzny back in childhood, that won a Nebula Award, and I'm surprised that this is never mentioned in reviews of the film as a precursor, or even the 1980's film Dreamscape, (Dennis Quaid, Christopher Plummer) loosely based on the novella.

But Chris Nolan says he wrote this up from his own ideas, I don't doubt it. I am glad the concept was not a horror film, but espionage based, I could see where you could have gone even further with it, and maybe they will.

I loved INCEPTION! Very cool. A fairly new plot twist. And yey for Zelazny. I loved the Amber Chronicles :-)
Another good movie I've seen is "The Black Swan". Disturbing, but good.

I recently saw it too. I enjoyed it, but didn't think it was quite as revolutionary as implied. I did like the combination of corporate espionage and personal guilt.

Have you seen the Japanese anime "Paprika" by Kon Satoshi?

I felt Inception was very much like it.

Had they tried for horror it would have stunk imo, just because horror has a bad track record in my eyes. Horror tends to go for gore and "boo" moments rather than suspense and creepiness.

I'll have to investigate That Zealzny book and Quaid movie now.
