I recall a post made some time ago that said John Watson in SHERLOCK was boring.

As Sherlock would say, WRONG.

I think that Martin (and Moffat and Gatiss) Watson is one of the best ever created, yes he's been wounded, and yes he feels lost in London when he returns from Afghanistan, but he never gives up, he's a fighter our John, it takes strength to just keep going, until Sherlock shows up in his life, Sherlock is his comrade and he also needs to be protected, John gets that.

and John makes tea.

Martin Freeman's John Watson is as boring as Sam Gamgee, which is to say, not at all!

I love badass takes on Watson. In the canon he was also sent home from the battlefront - I don't think he was wounded, but possibly sick? I forget. So Watson has ALWAYS been a solider, a fighter, a doctor, and a stranger to London.

So bad ass Watson for the win.
