Phones/internet/power etc down in many of the urban areas along the east coast with strict orders only to use telecoms (IF they are up) for urgent reasons only. So it may be a few hours or days before you know anything. Just have to hang on in there.

Some friends are tweeting, You and Chacha have blogged, luckily it seems that the nuclear plants shut down as they were supposed to, god it's awful to watch.

Yeah I got tweets from Hokkaido and Tokyo this morning, but a couple from Tokyo have stopped due to being told only to use comms for urgent reasons only.

No, one of the power plants is in trouble, there are now evacuation orders in force because they can't cool it, so not out of the woods yet.

They keep updating the news, but I have to go to the hospital soon, but they have computers there to keep up, I'm afraid it will only get worse in terms of what we hear.

I just stared at the screen this morning when I booted the computer up and Google news showed me the images. It's horrendous :(

Gackt and Hyde also blogged, it seems Jun-Ji did as well. They all said they are fine. Even though I'm sitting on a ugly snowstorm right now, my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected.
