ART FOR JAPAN

THIS IS THE WATERMARKED VERSION, all versions for sale do not include text
This iconic figure is based on Senju Kannon, the God of Compassion Who Hears The Cries of the World and multiplies his arms and hands to give support. Each hand in this image supports a symbol of the 47 prefectures of Japan, the figure also cradels a Japanese phoenix. This image also uses Shinto icongraphy, the solar disc as well as the jewel he wears.

Sorry not to have commented on this before. It's a lovely idea, beautifully executed. I like the almost dhyani mudra supporting the phoenix and the decoration of his halo and the colors you've used for the arms. Great work.

Thank you! ;D

Karadin, this is truly an amazing piece of art. I loved the BW version, but the colour version is simply incredible. How you have done the hands just grabs me in the gut, to be honest. Such a powerful and nuanced image.

I will be buying some of the offering you have up on print perfection for this piece - and it's nice that they offer so much variety of products compated to zazzle!

Down the road I'll pick up some Trident stuff I expect; right now I want to support the Compassion work :)

Wore my Sherlock zazzle t-shirt last night to Frankenstein and had so many people come up to me and ask about the shirt! Gave you major credit and promotion and said to check you out at Print perfection!

Oh very cool. I am wearing my Sherlock shirt now and one of my son's teachers said, hey! knowing where it was from. I will also wear mine to Frankenstein, maybe I should give you a cut for promotion!

I was wrong about the text -- "Compassion" is absolutely perfect.

Oh, this is the web version, it's there as a watermark, the print versions have no text! ;D

I just wanted to ask how much of the cost of the t shirts go to fundraising? I know that at Deviantart it seemed a lot was taken off by the manufacturers - just wanted to check. It's a GORGEOUS piece of work, really very beautiful indeed - inspired!

DA adds 20% for the artist, and all of that goes to the fundraising. That's typical for pay-as-produced sites, in fact, some sites such as Cafe Press give only 10% to artists.

Cool thanks, 20% isn't bad at all - will probably go for a deviantart thingy :)

I was going to add, if I had a paid account at DA, I might be able to fix prices, but adding more to me would add more to the price, I want things to be affordable as possible.

But I am looking at having large posters made that would have a foil or metallic finish, in that case I would do pre-orders, they would be limited and I would sign them.
