Women in the news - just wish it was more positive

Only 5% of pilots are women

Women suffering most in times of recession, more women laid off than men, women getting less jobs, in the 'Great Recession' men absorbed 7 out of 10 jobs offered

South Dakota governor signs most restrictive abortion law in US, women will have to wait three days and have to undergo counseling at pregnancy help centers that discourage abortions, there is only one abortion clinic in the state.

I still make 75% of what a man of my rank does at my uni and we have our faculty union stats that show across our uni, women make far less than men of equitable rank do. The faculty women challenge their salaries every year (me too) to try and get us up to par with male salaries. I keep a ton of stats on women in education and it's not positive either.

As my women's collective t-shirt said: "We haven't come far,a nd don't call us baby!"

This was in the day of the Virgina Slims ads, which dates me :)

Thanks for this post and the links - this is important for people to be thinking about regardless of where they live.

Have the administration there ever explained why you are paid less for the same job?
