I just watched this earlier, and now I'm so excited for the films! It was a trip watching him walk through the "old" sets. But Ian McKellan seems so much older.
It's funny, up to now I've been interested in this but a bit detached because LOTR was so amazing and well, The Hobbit has less Elves and more Dwarves, not to put too fine a point on it. This though has made me squee and shiver alternately and now I'm well and truly excited. The Rivendell set made me tear up and the last bit of that clip, with the beginning words of The Hobbit had me 14 again and picking up the book for the first time with a happy shiver and a grin.
Of course, Richard Armitage as Thorin and the fact Orlando Bloom will once again play Legolas, as well as the always incredible Ian McKellan also help! Can't wait!!
I admit, I also was not really feeling the whole "Another Tolkien Film" thing until Martin was officially announced. Now I am like a little school girl every time there is news.
I wasn't terribly into the idea of the Hobbit films, but like everyone else, Martin's casting got me all excited. He is so perfect for the part . . . I love the brief glimpse of him here, as they're blocking out a scene, where he's following a couple dwarves while awkwardly clutching an armful of axes. <3
