Progress on Fics

Wanted to tell you everythings at a stop for now, a combination of things, 1) kids home for summer distracting.
2) drawing mode going on, I can't seem to do both at once. 3) original fic is competing with fanfic in my head.

And I have thought of it this way as well, I usually write one or two romance stories for a pair in any fandom, and once I've done it, it's done, I don't have a need to write it again, I haven't written my great Sherlock and John romance story yet. It's percolating.

But also, fanfic for me is fun, not a job, I don't want to leave things unfinished, but RL shit happens, for example, I was working on an epic BLEACH fic and I had a car accident last summer that derailed it, and then I couldn't get back in.

I was working on my Japanese themed Sherlock fic, that was very dark and then the disaster happened in Japan and that threw me off, to the point I might have to reconsider the ending, so that's in limbo.

I don't mean to disappoint, so thanks for the friends who've been encouraging me, and for those sending FINISH NOW emails, well, that never works!

The muses, they are fickle creatures.
Glad to hear that drawing is going well, love your stuff ( but you know that).
Take your time percolating, things seem to turn out better that way, least for me.
And I can relate to the lovely ( well not always exactly lovely... ) distractions that are children. ;)

It is hard to get anything done with just one kid at home, I am amazed that you can get anything done with two!

I find somedays that my girl is more work than the boy, who despite his autism and ADHD, is never bored or needs to be entertained!

Thank you so much for the heads-up!

I was actually hoping that the Japanese fic might turn out to be one where Sherlock and John rally round to help, and some contacts are made because of the disaster that might not have happened otherwise; so it could have some cautious optimism. But you'd have to feel like writing it.........

(A kind of Foyle's War in Japan - crimes must be elucidated even in the direst situations; does this make sense?)

Well, the story was going to go very dark and gory and depressing, and after the disaster I didn't want to do that.
