AND - now the US is investigating News Corp on this side of the Atlantic, I can't be anything but gleeful, this has been a LONG TIME COMING. Thanks to The Guardian and The New York Times for keeping up on this story for years.

US authorities are probing two separate lines of inquiry -- one into whether Murdoch journalists hacked the phones of September 11, 2001, victims, and bribed officals. Hopefully this will bring down if not heavily damage News Corp - which includes Fox News, 20th Century Fox film studios, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, Harper Collins publishers, satellite broadcasters including BSkyB in Britain, plus Sky channels in Italy and Germany, and newspapers including the Sun and the Times.

I hate News International so much that I cancelled my 12 year long Sky subscription two years ago because I had big issues with Fox News encroaching in. It did mean missing out on vintage Doctor Who marathons every weekend...........*sobs* but I have to have some scruples!

Why were they ever allowed to become so huge in the first place? That's what I want to know. Thanks Republicans for the deregulation...
