Jude Law does not look like Jude Law. RDJ is done no favours - checking on the gun in his hand to see if its period, reminds me of a Luger.
I suppose the designers felt they had to do profiles since last films pretty excellent posters were (ahem) full frontal.
I'm not too happy with SHERLOCK designs by BBC either, I guess cos I've seen fanartists do better .... the pics are full of random frames, not too bad if they are in the background, but in at least one image, they go over the actors, PLUS the colours are too light! You think of SHERLOCKS tones as saturated and dark, particularly in the flat on Baker Street .

Date: 2011-10-13 08:59 am (UTC)Was watching the Cushing BBC DVDs last night and saw some things in it which I loved that had been picked out the books and ignored in every other version I've ever seen of same story adaptations. That's the awesomeness of Sherlock, such a powerful character and concept that you can twist him about through time and space, missing or adding a few details and he can still function.
Yes, dark and sombre suits Holmes....seriously NO PINK FRILLY LAMPSHADES thank you Sherlock Society!, although the custard yellow one in Mary's house in BBC The Sign of Four is probably the worst piece of home furnishing I have EVER seen.
