Happy Holidays!

How are you? Kids woke us up early (natch) ‘Sherlock’ girl’s fave gift is her microscope set and a 221B Baker Street board game - I remember that game when I was a kid! ‘John’ is enthralled with his ‘singamagigs’ which are slightly, well, no really creepy dolls that open their mouths when you push on their stomachs and sing ‘jingle bells’ and ‘we wish you a merry christmas’.

I was chuffed to get a package from a friend in Oxford with MALTESERS in it, and Xmas crackers, which we forgot to buy this year, (saved)

I hope all of you have a lovely holiday wherever you are, and now to New Year!

*just mentioning, I have a contest going to win a large ceramic mug with my Red Dragon image on it, (inspired by Ben’s role as Smaug in the Hobbit) just reblog the contest post for a chance to win! :D

you can enter at my Tumblr account, or here on lj.

Where did you find a 221B? *L* I used to have it as well =)

I am in ex-culinary student Heaven today. We do our gifts and family gathering on Christmas Eve, so last night I got a new set of knives and cookware (both much needed).

James got me a new Complete Sherlock from B&N, since mine is falling apart. Now I can read it without worrying. =)

Rhi has hidden herself away in her new room with her haul of new journals and purple things.

Today is a take it easy day for a bit, then going to get more from the old house this afternoon. I"m hoping for a couple of loads before my leg complains too much.

Have a great day! =)

Internet! :D

Purple things! That's great. I would love a new set of knives and cookware!

We have a complete set of Sherlock Holmes I picked up at Half-Price, since it's in the public domain now, a lot of recent copies are full of typos and other errors, so we picked up the Doyle estate copy of a few decades back, and hardcover. I'm shocked by what flimsy paperbacks go for these days!

Hope your leg holds up!

A-ha! Was going to leave you a cheery appreciation message to the wonderful Xmas tree paper decs (which I will do in a minute) and then spotted the reference to Maltesers and crackers (sorry there were only two then - I assumed they'd be spare!) and realized that I should check in here too! I'm glad the package arrived with its Union Jack-ish silliness - I think I cut down a wine box to make the shipping container so I hope you weren't too disappointed ;=)

I've had a happy and relaxing Christmas, thank you, but my camera died a fortnight ago (so no pics) and my desk-top PC has come out in spots (keeps crashing) so that's at the "doctor's" for a cure - technology is not showing me its sunny side at the mo. It's not a big deal but the timing could have been better!

I hope that things are well with you. You'd have been amused yesterday - one of my house guests was dying to watch a DVD that he'd brought so I said "fine - put on whatever you want" and so I found myself watching my first ever episode of Sherlock (I thought of you instead of looking for clues!)

Oh you saved my bacon, cos I forgot to get crackers, and the ones they sell in the US are crap anyway, the important things are the crowns! So two was fine, I even got a little screwdriver kit in one perfect for tightening my glasses.

I hoped you liked SHERLOCK, the new series starts New Year's Day! (yay expat shield!)
