Okay, so SHERLOCK Season Two filming right off of Frankenstein, then right into Parade’s End, then off to NZ for Hobbit, and then a film in Ireland, shooting for Trek2 is supposed to begin mid-Jan, BENEDICT, I am looking at you. Holiday. Soon. We want you around for a long long time.

Just because they start shooting doesn't mean they will need Benedict yet, he wouldn't take a project that interferes with his other contractual obligations, however, he did state that he'd vacation with his mum and dad in NZ and AU after hobbit, and this may have changed those plans.

I've only heard he's cast as "the villain".

Here's hoping he does get time between shoots to go visit the countries he'll be filming in.

I read an article from a producer that the villain role is original, not as some are stating 'Khan'

haha - yes, I saw that silliness in Rumourville as well.

I would hope/expect that Trek 2 will be like the first film; a good reboot, yet with its own new storyline.

(I do find it perplexing that The Guardian is reporting that he is a replacement for Del Toro though)

He really does seem to be everywhere these days - at least 2011 was a great year for him and now it seems like for 2012 there will be even more work! And yes, holidays are in order if he can fit them in somewhere!

I've been hyped for ST2 for ages and I'm so glad it's finally on track for being made!

I'd forgotten about this actually, I would say shame that it's been taking awhile, but now they have Benedict, it's a great thing (much like delays on Hobbit)
