My daughter read that Benedict felt sorry that he hadn’t had children by the time he was 32. And she said she and her brother would adopt Benedict. (as a surrogate parent) I posted about that, but having a think about it, I didn’t want to give the appearance that Ben’s disappointment is something to joke about. I really appreciate anyone who takes child rearing seriously, that’s the person you want to be a parent. I hope he can have kids, maybe adopt, even if he remains single.

I was thinking about this, as you well know my views on children. I think he needs to consider that it would be far worse for him to have a child with a woman with whom he doesn't remain.

Colin Firth has a son with Meg Tilly. Gary Oldman has three children with two different women, and I believe just had another with his current wife despite being in his 50's. Jude Law divorced the mother of his children. I believe that Ben is older than all of them were when they had those kids, but I hope he doesn't just settle for someone to have children and then break-up. It's hard enough to be with your kids as an actor with a long-term partner. Even harder when you're separated.

I wonder if the thing with Anna didn't work out as we haven't seen her since Tinker, Tailor, and that's why he's feeling a bit sad.

Not knowing anything about Ben's personal life, I thought Anna was so soon after Ben broke up with Olivia, I didn't see it as a permanent thing, but we have no idea, maybe she'll come to visit him in CA and NZ.

I think he's been sad about not having kids for years, no matter who he is with. So I think he should consider a surrogate or adoption if children are paramount in his mind (with relationship secondary)

over half of all marriages end in divorce, so it's not just celebs that suffer from them, and plenty have kids, it's how you deal with separations and your kids that count. I think it was great of Gary Oldman to put his career as a director on hold so that he could raise his two sons.
