Great entrance, I knew there would be some old songs, but I don't know about some of the choices other than Vogue. My first impression: She's a fan of THOR.

But trading a bit on the popularity of other performers? Bit not good if you want people to forget Lady GaGa.

Is it possible she has become such a long time icon that she is able to share her spotlight with younger performers? People who are excellent in their way and different from her? Mix it all up a bit and come out looking like she is so sure of herself she will always stand out?

I was thinking about that, cos other people have had 'guest artists' at superbowl. It's not like I don't like who she had with her, but it did smack a bit to me of I haven't had a hit song in a long time!

I agree with the "long time between hits" idea.

This is funny on my end since I have never been one of her fans. Still, I do have to admire an enterprising woman. In her profession/s it takes a lot of work, energy, drive and willingness to take risks to remain relevant.

Maybe she is smart enough to realize she cannot pull off trying the music styles of the people she had with her. It was interesting she chose well known artists to accompany her when she could have easily chosen unknowns who would have given no challenge to her star status.

LOL. Good observation. When the commercial with her and Leno came on with "Like A Virgin" in it, I said to young friend, wow, I remember when that came out. Friend said, yeah she's getting old to which I said, she's still in pretty damn good shape for any age! Though she did slip trying to get on those bleachers at one point.
