I was saying to a friend, I don’t think that’s possible. I would like to think that no matter which way a show went I could still view the ones I liked and keep my own headcanon …

Then I remember what happened to the XFiles.

I can’t watch old episodes, the fanstuff I got I gave away or is getting dusty in the attic. I decided to stop watching tv for years after that.

So, yeah, I think your show can get ruined.

But thanks to SHERLOCK, I'm back to giving English-language tv shows a try.

I broke up with Torchwood in the middle of Children of Earth. It wasn't even the big thing that all the fans got upset about, it was that I got spoiled for the end and realised it wasn't going to get any better--watching it was like torture, and I'd been holding out for if not a happy ending at least a hopeful and satisfying one, and realising that wasn't coming I just couldn't summon up any more interest.
