you know how I first heard about Santorum? It was the fact he was homophobic, and my friends were making jokes about him, to the effect that when you google the name Santorum, you discover it’s now a euphemism for the trace elements left after engaging in anal sex. It’s no surprise to me that the man is also woman-hating and racist. However it is ASTONISHING to me, he could get so far in his effort for a nomination to the highest office in the land, and no-one is calling him out on his shit except for tumblr, twitter and facebook blogs.

My mother said last week that she supported him. I had to leave the room.

I guess I'd just have to ask her, why?

My mom is really racist. And ignorant. It's scary how she thinks.

I am not directly involved in this (not being American) but I did look him up after someone made a reference to him in regard to the urban dictionary on a blog. He seems to be a rather bigoted idiot.

What I don't get is, let me quote the news feed By contrast, Rick Santorum's fans applaud his natural, unscripted nature, which makes him seem human rather than handled. He had fans :O who likes what he says ????

People are either a lot nastier than I thought or they are just stupid.

Or both.

We seem to have lowered or standards drastically if we support a jerk like Santorum because he's a human. Also, I can't help wondering is this "slip" is really unscripted. Could be he makes it look enough like an error to cover himself but still panders to the worst of his party. If, God forbid, he does get the nomination aftr all, it will be interesting to see how he tries to convince the independents and (comparatively) moderates that he really isn't full of bad craziness after all.

Luckily, I don't think he's going to get the nomination.

I apologize for my stupid ass state choosing him in the primary. However, I didn't vote so my hands are clean...sort of...since we have open primaries here I guess I should have but that ain't my party.
I don't think the Repubs have a chance no matter who they put up, so I'm not panicking just yet.

Meh, I know how you feel, I have to keep apologizing that Michelle Nutjob Bachman comes from my state, we've been trying to get rid of her for years, among other things, she's never written and passed any legislation - ever. Her main goal for years was just to say the craziest shit on Fox News, who knew you could make a career out of that?
