FIC PEEVES recently seen

REFERRING TO A MAN WHO IS 37 YEARS OLD AS MIDDLE AGED. NO. And also, Castiel aka the uber hot Misha Collins does not have a soft belly. Just check him out jogging at comic-con. *previous posts*

'UPGRADING' CHARACTERS IN YOUR FIC WITH Original Gary Stu's. NO. Okay, Referring in your fic to an original 'tall dark handsome' character as an 'upgrade' from a beloved actor stopped me dead cold. go ahead and replace them if you want, but don't diss the actor, it won't make you friends.

TOO MANY BEGINNINGS OF STORIES WITHOUT MIDDLES AND ENDS. If I had a quarter for every fic I've been reading that is a scene, and not a story. ARGH. Alas, no warnings in headers for that.

PLEASE STOP WITH THE LONG NOTES IN HEADERS WITH SELF-REFERENTIAL CRAP along the lines of 'well, you know me' NO I DON'T.
Rant over.

I hate "I suck at summaries" - if you can't write a summary don't tell us - what's wrong with 'this is a romantic/suspense/action story starring X, Y and Z'? "The funniest story you'll ever read" - I've learnt to avoid those like the plague. And stories with heroines with outlandish names, gorgeous figures/looks/hair who can do everything the hero can do but ten times faster/bigger/better - oh, wait! They're called Mary Sues! AND FOR HEAVENS SAKE - would authors use a bloody spell and grammer checker!!! The amount of times I see your/you're and their/there just drive me crazy!

That's my rant done - now let's return to your story of choice.

Oops I meant to say "The amount of times I see your/you're and their/there USED INCORRECTLY..."

Proofreading before hitting the send button is another good idea! (hehehe)

Mispelling allowed in rants due to emotional distress.

Yeah, I agree with the 'I can't write a good summary/synopsis' okay, why should I think you'd write a good story, then?

Sorry for responding to this so late -- I'm catching up on my flist and I noticed your very first peeve and my brain broke. Srsly? In this day and age people honestly think 37 is middle aged? What, we've been transported back to the Middle Ages, that many people pop off at 74? *rolls eyes at some people*

TOO MANY BEGINNINGS OF STORIES WITHOUT MIDDLES AND ENDS. <-- This is why drabbles are so hard! *wails*
