I have a sneaking suspicion

It's gonna be dead at work today because it's crappy weather outside, fresh snow from last night, one degree and 13 below degree windchill. *sigh*

I'd re-do the gallery, take down stuff and move stuff around, if I knew what to put up.

But working out what flavour valentines chocolates to try making, right now, cinnamon, green tea, honey, and spicy.

the sun is out, that might change things for this afternoon. I just know that last sunday when it was this cold, I went open to close (noon-five) without a single person in, at that point, I wish I could close up shop and go home. Or maybe we could do appointments on the weekends, course, it would suck if you came in for one customer and they didn't show. (never think of calling in first) not that I want to do myself out of job, because I mostly work weekends, but I'm thinking of it from the business aspect.

Meanwhile, I brought all my own paperwork for my shops last year, trying to figure out how much I made - so I'm being productive in my own way.

Almost all the artists we carry are local, that helps in terms of prices in this economy, and helps the local art community. I think it was different years back when the economy was booming and there was a big collectibles market, you know, Doolittle and Redlin (yawn) I much prefer our carrying original oils, watercolours, wax resist, sculpture and glass art.
But sometimes people only want to buy things because they are popular, sort of money no taste thing?

i can understand the reasoning behind carrying local artists. there's one that is speaking to me: David Cunningham: Nicollet

you know, the thing with art is that it's just SO SUBJECTIVE - never know when the value of something will increase, which is why we just have to buy what we love, right?
