The Collins Family shows you how to play with your food

Misha with son West and wife Vicki filming. Seriously, West is one adorable kid, particularly when he keeps telling his dad what to do.

OH GOD, THEY DON'T WASH THEIR VEGGIES FIRST! ack!
and west has his FEET on the counter! O.o

OTH, glad to see that they line their oven with foil, thus facilitating the cleaning process. xppp
aaaannnndddd misha doesn't wear his shoes indoors.

one could really tell misha's nomadic background by the way he raises his kid. gads, did you also notice that west went barefoot in public! O.o

Ha ha, well Misha used to eat dirt, so I think he's going by the old adage, what does not kill you makes you stronger.

I LOVE THE HOUSE, is that the one he built? I'd love to have a house this style, alas, not in my temperate zone.

If he's got a Japanese style house, makes sense if he doesn't wear shoes, but they do wear slippers indoors.

lol, obviously.

...looks like it could be one he built himself (as it doesn't look exactly high-end, plus it's a bit dated).

maybe you could add shoji screens to your house as an anteroom...looks to me that misha's could be an "add on."

[identity profile] mrsr58.livejournal.com 2013-04-25 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
...yep, definitely could be the one he built: i mean, pine (or something) board counter panels; love the ss top and i think the use of lockers as cabinets is definitely very creative.

[identity profile] karadin.livejournal.com 2013-04-25 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
shoji screens would not last two hours in my house.

[identity profile] mrsr58.livejournal.com 2013-04-25 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
...i thought you were referring to the screens when you said something about wanting his house.

[identity profile] karadin.livejournal.com 2013-04-25 11:41 am (UTC)(link)
I did, and the overall open-plan asian theme, it's just shoji screens are paper, and with kids and pets, wouldn't work with me now.

[identity profile] mrsr58.livejournal.com 2013-04-25 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
i could be wrong but misha's shojis don't look like paper but more like plastic. (see? there's hope)

I've got a craftsman house, and it's tiny, so I couldn't install screens (unless I made pocket versions, but yeah, no real use for them here, maybe the next house I have, whenever.

[identity profile] mrsr58.livejournal.com 2013-04-26 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
craftsman - my dear, it's so very similar to japanese style already! :D:D:D

[identity profile] karadin.livejournal.com 2013-04-26 12:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup! Thats why I like it.

[identity profile] karadin.livejournal.com 2013-04-24 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
and I think in one shot, you can see Mish toss marshmallows that fell on the floor right into the cornbread, haha.

[identity profile] mrsr58.livejournal.com 2013-04-25 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
yep, and god knows where that rosemary came from!

[identity profile] karadin.livejournal.com 2013-04-25 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
West pulled it off a bush, he said 'I'm getting spices' oh ho.

[identity profile] mrsr58.livejournal.com 2013-04-26 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
lol, yeah i noticed that from the beginning. i was just wondering if that entire stalk was also from the bush. i had seen that the bits of rosemary leaves were saved in their shopping cart...you know, in the front area where people usually plop their kids' butts. eeeeewwww

Did the grocer say, "If you let the kids pick out the vegetables, they're more likely to eat them"? I'll have to try that. :)

He may not grow up to be a master chef or anything, but this young man is going to have so much confidence in the kitchen, and people are going to find that irresistible.

I couldn't imagine giving my kid free reign of the grocery shopping and cooking like that ... except now I'm thinking about how much he'd love it if I did it just once. Hmmm.

Last time Mish took West shopping, he picked up 12 bags of Kit Kats. Snorfle.
