SUPERNATURAL Season Fine Premiere
HOLY CRAP. That was a good premiere.

Misha did a great job as ‘human Castiel’ with more animation in his expressions and movements, subtle and great, and I gotta hand it to writers, if you have to have some Sam and Dean tension, this one isn’t as manufactured, it’s pretty angsty. And er, I’d say yes to Dean too. Jensen did such a wonderful job here, you could really see the struggle. This is sort of shades of ‘souless Sam’ but note that Dean trusts Ezekiel because Cas gave the ok, but Castiel said ‘he’s a good soldier’ which to me means ‘good at following orders’ so we don’t know Zeke is gonna be a good guy. Hael ended up being wonderfully creeptastic. Go Cas. Let’s hope his human scenes aren’t all for comedy.

Like you I am unsure about trusting this angel, is he going to leave Sam when he is supposed to.
I was happy to see Death, one of my favorite characters.

Poor Cas and his belief at first that he wouldn't need to drink or eat...it only became real to him after talking with Dean. I'm looking forward to seeing how he's able to handle humanity. It's going to be an exciting challenge for Misha this season, because he has to create yet another incarnation of Cas that has to be different than all the others.
Does this mean we're never going to see the trenchcoat again? That was the only thing I had an issue with in the ep.
I know Ezekiel (the actor Tahmoh Penikott) from Battlestar Galactica. He definitely played Ezekiel very other-worldly, down to his intonation and line readings. Very nice.
I'm also looking forward to more Samzekiel this season.
Oh, and the scene in the cabin where Dean convinces Sam not to go with Death...Jared was fantastic in that scene.
I can't get over that we're NINE seasons in with this show. It continues to surprise me.
