Ennis Roth is the lead (and they are looking to cast African American male in 20s) who is a cop who meets Sam and Dean and finds out about monsters, and that Chicago (where he lives) is ruled by five groups of monsters, two of which are shape-shifters and werewolves.

David Hayden in his 20s is head of the shifters, he was playing human but got dragged back in.

Margo Hayden in her 20s is trying to be head of the shifter mob, David's sister.

Violet Durant is a werewolf and her family is wealthy and she's in love with David which is a guess a baaaad thing.

Julian Durant Violet's bro also a werewolf is in his 20s is Ennis rival and hates David

Freddie Costa is also a cop and was a friend of Ennis' dad, and is probably some sort of monster too.

*note, added to Supernatural lore, werewolves can be born or be bitten. Some werewolves want to eradicate humanity and wear silver bullets around their necks which have the word 'Ragnarok' on them, Ragnarok being a reference to the Norse end of days when the wolf Fenris swallows the moon. Some other werewolves appear to believe in Christianity, it's quite loose and a bit slapped together at this point.

sort of Grimmy? I'm not very intrigued, at least the bros travelling and fighting monsters was unique.

who wants to bet that one of the groups are vampires - vampirates? now that would be more interesting.

for a real end of world feeling it should have been set in Detroit - and then Panic in Detroit by Bowie could be the theme song

or if this was Chicago Prohibition era,

to be honest, I'm afraid they'd set up the monsters as parables on class and race (probably class cos i don't want them near race) but I'd rather just go back to the ol' school supernatural monsters is scary monsters - something is out there that's beyond understanding and evil, because in season seven when it was meet n great creature of the week, it was oh so deadly boring.

I mean season eight, with those lame spin off concepts,
