so I make a statement that I was underwhelmed by tonites filler ep, and mentioned missing Misha, and someone gets all snarky about ‘oh I guess I should forget three seasons blah blah it’s not good without Cas’

I’m a Sam and Dean fan who loves Cas too, wtf, everyone so goddammed hung up on their shipping they forget that not everyone takes sides.

there is ‘the show’ and there is ‘fandom’ I don’t expect the show to cater to my fic tastes, actually, I hope it never does. what I do expect from the show is good writing, character development and progression, not the same ol ideas, or the same old dynamic between the brothers.

It's a damned trip trying to talk to other fans about this show nowadays, isn't it? Which is why I usually don't.

I once found this blog where a SPN fan tries to provide a safe space to criticize the show: the writing, character development, plotlines, etc. Every post had at least one flamer going, "SUPERNATURAL IS THE BEST THING ON TV, YOU JUST HATE THAT PAIRING/CHARACTER, WHY DON'T YOU JUST STOP WATCHING THE SHOW IF YOU HATE IT SO FUCKING MUCH!!!!"

Frankly, I don't care who your favorite character is or who you ship (with a good author, I'll read any story out there), but anyone who thinks that S9 is going well, for ANY of these characters or pairings, is someone who may not be open to a reasoned discussion with someone who disagrees.

yep, you can't really discuss the show because people go along shipping lines, even if you don't ship, or like me, can ship any well written pair.

I didn't like the episode last night. I never cared for the Ghostfacers and thought using them to parallel Sam and Deans story cheapened it and insulted us.
They would have done better to actually have Sam and Dean talk to each other and communicate than waste our time with this drivel.
I liked the bit of Weechesters we got and Sam's panic at Dean nearly having his throat cut but not much else.
I don't like what this whole breaking Sam and Dean's relationship has done to the fandom.

too much filler this season is the problem, and not enough good showrunning, probably due to the production team trying to get a spin off going.
