France, along with every other industrialized nation in the world has sensible gun controls, for the safety and welfare of their people, we lose more people in the US to senseless domestic gun violence than we have ever lost to terrorism.
Terrorists will strike where they can, that’s where they get the name from, even with security systems in place, they can sneak in and destroy, it’s how you react to that destruction that matters, hopefully France will not give in to fear and become their own worst enemy as we did, throwing ourselves into unwinnable wars, using terror as an excuse to attack another nation for oil, spying on our own people, giving up our own civil rights, that’s how the terrorists win.
If we do fight any terrorist group, foreign or domestic, we do it smart, we don’t use bombs and boots on the ground, we form coalitions with our allies, (something Dubya never learned from his dad) blind striking at civilian targets only creates more terrorists in the future, Al Queda, ISIS, we created those people by trying to dictate to the rest of the world how we want it run, this is better done through diplomacy and aid other than military. We have a military machine, over half of our nations wealth goes into that, and we spread it all over the world, at some time, it comes home to roost.
But right now? we help France, we help Lebanon, we help Syria, we don’t make it about us.
