Warner Bros. is aware of fan discontent with BvS’ moody tone: the fanboy blogs lit up like pinball machines two days ago with buzz of reshoots on Suicide Squad (due out on August 5): Apparently the studio is lightening the mood for a more fun Suicide. BvS has a big drop of -69% it's second weekend out, with no competition from new releases. The word strong is an understatement when talking about the fifth weekend hold for Disney’s Zootopia which is at amazing -14% for a projected FSS of $20.7M. Domestic by Sunday will be at $276.6M. Still in the top 10, Deadpool.

I understand that all too well. Heck, I just did a post on how all this has made me reevaluate the quality of MoS. I realize now there are some things I really didn't like about the movie, but I was so caught up in the excitement when MoS first came out that I couldn't even give voice to them then.

Yeah, having your hopes stoked for years (or decades, in Star Wars's case) and then getting a movie that's anything less than universally mind-blowing will piss a fan off. Still, that combined with the comics rivalry has left an overall unpleasant taste in my mouth. Hopefully that too will die down as time passes.
