Fan and Critic Preview of Captain America Civil War = thumbs up!

*non spoilery

kudos given for Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) who has his own film coming up, Spider-Man, Ant-Man, Vision and Scarlett Witch, the Falcon and the Winter Soldier (as a pair) all getting nods from critics and fans. (comments on Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. are in spoilery reviews that I'm not reading)

critics mention character development, a solid story and a great action sequence which make it live up to summer blockbuster hype. *crossing fingers*

Some critics give The Winter Soldier a slight edge over Civil War, where some think of it as better, and almost all critics believing CW better than the last Avengers film Age of Ultron.

*initial reviews of Batman vs Superman were great, there was an embargo on critical reviews before the opening ob BvS, so we can take this with a grain of salt, but Disney/Marvel is allowing full reviews by independent critics after April 13, when Civil War opens overseas that's almost 3 weeks before US release - so they must think it's going to do fine. Civil War opens in US May 6.

Actually I don't think CW opens overseas until the next week. But there are mass prescreenings going on across North America on the 14th. There is no way this movie isn't spoiled for the vast majority of fans. Personally I think that Marvel made a mistake holding everything so early. Yes it will increase the excitement but it may also dampen it. I am disappointed that I will try and stay unspoiled but it is nearly impossible to do so these days. For every major movie in the last 3-4 years I have tried to stay spoiler free at this stage and it never works. The spoilers pop up in the weirdest places. I'm happy it looks like it will do well, but not happy about the length of time between the screenings and the opening.

well, I see most spoilery things on my tumblr, and I have tumblr savoir on, so I think I can avoid it, (I don't watch tv) I haven't been spoiled for films unless I really go looking for it.
I heard the UK opening for CW is April 12, and also for China, but I could be wrong.

Not sure if savior works on mobile devices. I know I use xkit and it doesn't, so tumblr is going to be a dangerous place for me. Plus with Iron Man 3 I was spoiled due to a summary of a story on AO3! I didn't go looking for it, I was looking to read some stories to avoid looking for it!

Yeah you might be right, but all the European trailers I've seen have a week later date. Shrug, don't know, don't care. Still gonna get spoiled. 😫

good thing I don't use my phone for anything but talking and texting! I have an old thing that I paid for $50 and is pay as you go, so I won't care if it gets broken or lost.
