Man, I didn't even know he was suffering from Alzheimer's.

My first thought was at least he's with Gilda again. I hope that's true.

He didn't tell anyone he had Alzheimers because he would still meet children who recognized him, and he didn't want them feeling bad when they met. (because a parent might say, oh and ...)

I remember watching the Producers as a child and thinking - yeah someone else in the world reacts to disappointment exactly the same way that I do. Nobody did zero to manic like Gene. Beautiful person.
