And sausage egg muffin from gas station down the road, yay for money.

Ever get annoyed that money is taken out of your account immediately, but it takes forever to go in when you get a refund? Bollocks.

Great word that.

Soooooo, nice and quiet with kids back to school, son was literally screaming most of yesterday, he was excited and having fun but still.

Work proceeding apace on color of Sherlock, fiddling with chapter 3 of Danmari while plot bunnies chew my ankles, and I mean to get drawing for Sherlock, John toddler L and the epilogue of What Child Is This up.

I might be entering art show in May, so must get more finish work out cos I missed on this last year. I'm going to try to color Okinawa Lionfish in my oshie style.

Listening to Gackt to day, what a pleasure. Hope you have a good Tuesday.
You might see refs and images to this person in my blog, for the last five years, give a listen here to this song if:

a) you don't know who he is
b) you think you knew who he is and haven't tried his music lately
c) even if you can't understand Japanese
d) you will thank me - and with 1,000 converts I get full sized working GUNDAM with missle launcher, he promised.

little notes about GACKT
1. Benedict Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch was born on July 19, 1976 in London. He is the son of actors Timothy Carlton (Cumberbatch) and Wanda Ventham.

2. He is 6 feet tall. (some sites add half an inch)

3. Attended Harrow and Manchester University, and London Academy of Music and Art on a arts scholarship (painted) and spent his gap year teaching English at a Tibetan Monastery. (!) Studied for Law before deciding to take up family profession of acting.

4. Met up with Stephen Hawking (before taking on the role of the professor in the drama Hawking.) and said, "He's such a presence and you have to really know what you want to say to him or ask him because it takes such a huge, phenomenal effort for him to communicate with you. You think, 'I really don't want to waste this man's time'."

5. acting debut was in a school production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, as Titania Queen of the Fairies.

6. For SHERLOCK, he practiced the violin and trying out deduction "You can't help but cast an eye round you and think about people and the explanation that might lie behind the exterior show. That indentation where a wedding ring should be, the dynamics of families. People in a moment of isolation, certain things do stick out. It's an achievable superpower."
(PS Moffat and Gatiss report he cannot play well and that he couldn't solve a puzzle they gave him, haha)

7. Loves impersonations, will impersonate directors of shows/films working on, will do Alan Rickman reciting 'Candle in the Wind' to hilarious effect.

8. Was carjacked and hardly escaped alive with fellow actors in South Africa while making 'To The Ends of the Earth', however afterward went on adrenaline binge of skydiving, and hot air ballooning.

9. Considers himself too old to take advantage of spectacular fame in SHERLOCK, and being this busy makes personal plans (marriagekids) difficult. Likes roof gardening, people watching (more difficult now) and wants to go back to painting. He lives with fellow actor Olivia Poulet.

10. On his name - "What a fluffy old name. I can never say it on a Monday morning. When I became an actor, mum wasn't keen on me keeping it." (However, when he used the name Carlton, he could not get jobs, he was only noticed when he began using Cumberbatch.)

11. Additional, considers actor Jeremy Brett the essential Holmes actor (along with Nigel Rathbone) and Brett was a friend of his family (through his mum).
I was chatting with someone today (and have had a few queries from friends) and I said, I'm really into Benedict - as SHERLOCK - in that part, yes he's fab actor in anything, but it's this particular role and also with Martin as Watson, that whole thing. I haven't been excited about a TV SHOW of all things for YEARS, I stopped watching TV, because shows I loved (Twin Peaks, X Files) either were canceled or jumped the shark, I said, I will never be invested emotionally in a show ever again.

I am glad to be wrong, thank you Moffat and Gatiss and BBC.

But its a creative charge to be excited about this series (jump charging childhood love of SH, latent Anglophilia and my fave genre which is mystery and detection, much to the surprise of those who know me online)

And if not more than two seasons, that's fine, quality over quantity. I'm even kind of excited about The Hobbit if Martin is in it.

But no one can do what Gackt does, all that he is, seriously, he doesn't just push buttons, he wires new ones - consider that he's an artist from a culture not my own and I've had to learn another language and culture to begin understand him, he's not my first muse, but he's the last.

Naka-chan

karadinart: (deneb yutto by karadin)

This is my other baby, Nakamura Yuichi, I watched his film Kamen Rider Cho Den-O Movie Red last night, and he didn't have much to do acting-wize, (there was a bit of wrestling with Deneb, showing his goofy side,

honestly, I think fans are more invested in Yutto's relationship with his Imagin Deneb than Arii-san, I love the doomed love story in Den-O, (older Yutto vs younger) but seriously, there is almost no chemistry (for me) between the leads and no reason why he should love Arii-san other than being told, hey dude, you will love her so you should love her, you know?

I enjoyed him in Moyashimon, though that was broad comedy, but I want to say, Naka-chan can do so much more! The whole part in original Den-O when Nogami watches him disappear, one of my fave scenes in the history of ever (will go see if it's on You Tube, but you'd have to watch the show to date to get the impact) Give him some roles with teeth in them.

Well, I wrote him a role in my Sherlock fic that's plenty dramatic, anyhow.

I used to be able to check his blog daily for cute pictures, but his entertainment group made them subscription only - T T
(have to check on the spelling but I got goodies today!) Xmas pressies!

A beautiful book from the V&A with Kimono Design Patterns! WOOT (and CD Rom) and a fascimile copy of Punctuation Personified (wongkk knows me too well) and I save the beautiful paper for some origami, as well as beautiful cards which I have put up in the office.

Thank you! And I have to get onto my cards on Thursday, I might be putting in Sherlock cards with the New Years Cards for those interested. ;D
