GACKT cut his hair for his role in the tv drama 'The Tempest' where he dons a skull-cap and long braid. I like him in short hair, you can see his face.

Yay!

I love these katana umbrellas from Japan, it's cool that when not in use the resemble a samurai sword, AND you can sling it over your shoulder to keep your hands free. They finally have the Uesugi Kenshin pattern!

Note, I've been very happy with my Printfection site, I can set my own prices and Cafe Press will not sell my products and content to 3rd parties! There are no inactivity fees, or Termination fees for your free account.

Printfection ships Internationally, but more important for my customers, they create all their product, so there is only one shipping charge, not for example, one fee if you purchase a mug, and a second if you order a tee (that comes from a different vendor!)
Friend and I were talking bout one of my other fandoms, BLEACH, the Japanese manga and anime. And she was saing how she's as much as ever into the manga and anime, but the fandom can bring her down, all the hating on this character and that.

And I said, you know what I notice in my new fandom?

The hate on the main character, you know, SHERLOCK HOLMES. Someone even made a com just for people to write fic where he gets his comeuppance.

I kind of don't get it, is it Benedict's portrayal? Is it the writers making the character more antisocial? I would think if you didn't like the main character, you wouldn't care for the show ... I haven't seen this sort of trend in canon Holmes or Brett Holmes or even RDJ Holmes.

When I saw the pilot episode, (where there was a kindler, gentler Sherlock) it didn't have the divine spark of the first episode. Benedict has said his portrayal changed as he interacted more with Martin (Freeman) as Watson. I adore edgy, snarky and dangerous Sherlock because it's refreshing, it's electric, Benedict and Martin are of equal talent, it's fantastic to see them push each other to greater heights.

Moffat and Gatiss want and need Sherlock to change and develop over the course of however-many-shows-we are lucky to get. If John Watson is to make Sherlock a good man as well as a great one, we have to see Sherlock change. He won't always be as antisocial, I think Benedict can still keep him intriguing.

If I had a wish, I'd just like to see John and Sherlock as men in their thirties, and involved with cases as well as each other. You can put Sherlock through the wringer in a fic, but he has to rise above it, he has to be great, or he's not Sherlock Holmes.
Martin Freeman happens to delight in music of the 60s, as do I, he does some DJing, and interviewed this gentleman, Smokey Robinson, here is my fave song of his. My son likes to sing this, and his sister and I sing the backup.

GRAPE HI-CHEWS
These really taste like real purple grapes! Amazing. And they are introducing this flavor to the states, alas, we are probably one of the few States that no longer has 7-11 stores!

A friend once sent me a big package of all kinds of flavors not available outside Japan, along with the Grape I liked Cola. But the Blue Cotton Candy made my spouse's mouth swell up with an allergy!
