I'ts going to be exciting to see if BvS drops the 2nd week in.

Due to overwhelming negative reaction to BvS, which came out a few days before the film (and almost all the tickets to BvS were sold in preorders) WB is considering how it will preview Suicide Squad.

I mean, gee kids, maybe make a better film? Are all the negative reactions simply because 'all the critics were influenced by the first reviews? Yet the reviews coming out night of the premiere were all good.

When I get reviewed on my work, if I see all reviewers remark on the same thing, (such as too long, makes no sense, damn dreamsequences) then I would take it as legit.

If all reviewers had different things to say, then I would not really worry about what they said.

I mean the only person who could really be hurt by negative reviews would be Synder, and going forward to direct Justice League. I doubt this would affect the actors, as most reviewers didn't have a problem with them.

when I bought comics as a kid back in the 70s there was a rivalry between DC and Marvel, so I'm not surprised it's still going, and kids argued about it during recess, and for years DC had the good movies, when Marvel didn't have anything.

The audience reviews on Rotten Tomatoes started in the 90s before the movie came out (because a lot of people were reviewing before they saw it) and now it's come to 73% which is I think what fans think of it, not great, but not bad, and it is odd that reviews are coming in so bad, when most reviewers think BvS is better than Man of Steel, and that is about 51% at RT.

I think everyone watches movie ratings for a big hyped film to see what will happen, regardless if they will see the film or not (50 Shades of Grey) and it's time that will really tell if something's succeeded, but I do think a large part of the audience is frankly, really pissed that they've made Superman so dark, and even Batman darker, so that there's not a big difference between them, I mean, that was one of the reasons I stopped following DC movies.

The rivalry mostly died down as comics died on their ass in the 80's, not a Miller worshipper by FAR, but the results that there are tons of superhero movies, a huge variety of comics of all types and people enjoying them without ridicule because of the rejuvenation caused by the revolution, it is well worth the price! Up until this movie, I honestly thought the DC/Marv rivalry crap had gone away - didn't take much to get people worked up again, it only started after Disney bought Marvel though for some reason.

In truth, people wanted to hate this film as soon as they heard the title. They didn't care if there was a reason or plot device, they shut down immediately. The trailer focusing on angry Supes and the idea that all of Metropolis hated him was bollocks, its just one angry, heavily manipulated one who is key to the plot. Having it marketed to them when they already hated it and wanted it to fail just pushed it over the edge.

It's all about the DARK, DARK, DARK rhetoric, but it's not as dark by FAR compared to the Nolan or even to a large extent the Burton films, but that's glossed over because apparently Heath Ledger and Nicholson were so awesome that their sick deeds are overlooked as "it's okay because they actors are good". And of course Supes wiping Lois's mind and having his evil side almost take over in the Reeve's movie was fine too, and the Routh Superman was nothing but a happy upper too, leaving his disabled kid to a life of misery. People really do look back with rose-tints don't they?

Bats and Supes fighting for a bit in ridiculous manga OTT style, stopping 10 mins later because they are motivated by love for their moms and then working together is just a step too far. I'd say the tone is much more serious than dark. Superman is serious, he is frustrated, he's also in love in an equal partnership, examining his purpose and loses that annoying bumbling Clark Kent bullshit to boot. If that makes him dark, dark, dark then I don't know why people bother watching movies at all if there is no contrast, it's boring.

Movie ratings seem to be srs bsns in the US, people give less creedence to them here, probably why I'm so bemused by all of this crap.

oh yeah, I see the Nolan films as dark but coherent, though they weren't my cup of tea (I don't like Christian Bale AT ALL as Batman) and a switch from most DC fans, I thought Affleck would be fine as Batman)

I was a little bit disturbed that the Batman Returns movie was so skewed toward the Reeve Superman films instead of going in a new direction, because which young fans would want a sequel to a film that was 20 years old at that point? I don't remember hardly any of the film except for Superman catching a plane? did that happen?

I don't know how the internet DC Marvel rivalry thing has been going, but most people I know online right now like characters in both fandoms and aren't pro one side or the other, but more against a certain comic line, for example, I can't stand what Marvel has been putting out in the Captain America comics, (by that I mean aging him, not that they are letting Falcon be Cap)

I stick to my MCU Steve (and Avengers Assemble) and I love the Invincible Iron Man comic (so far)
